Dirty Birds is a neighborhood storefront in Menlo Park offering hand-selected secondhand fashion for teens and adults of all ages. From everyday clothing and denim to dresses, jackets, and special-occasion pieces, the collection spans different eras, labels, sizes, and price points. We have a special appreciation for natural fibers, including many pieces made from 100% cotton, linen, or silk, alongside well-made natural-fiber blends.
Beyond clothing, you’ll find accessories for every occasion, jewelry ranging from costume pieces to fine jewelry when available, and a changing selection of art, kitchenware, home décor, furniture, and other home goods. The mix changes often, so there is always something unexpected to discover. Shopping secondhand keeps beautiful, well-made things in circulation longer, reduces unnecessary waste, and gives each find a meaningful next chapter.

Meet Johanna
Hi, I’m Johanna—a Bay Area native who fell in love with sustainable living and distinctive fashion in early adulthood. After years working in fast-fashion retail, running a restaurant, and working in the fitness industry, I decided it was time to build something I truly loved.
Dirty Birds Collective is my dream brought to life: a woman-owned storefront in Menlo Park created for people who value thoughtful style, slow fashion, and the joy of discovery. It isn’t always easy, but it is the most rewarding work I have ever done—and this community makes it all worthwhile.
